Happy-C, Fun-C, Lady C! I am Lady C, representing the God’s Eye faction in STARDOM.
I have officially been put in charge of the Sunday Weekly Pro column!
I’ve been waiting with nervous excitement, wondering if my turn would ever come, and it is finally Lady’s turn.
To be honest, I’m the type who could never keep up a summer vacation diary.
I love reading, but I’m not the best at writing.
I love talking, but I quickly lose track of the point I’m trying to make.
By the way, my nickname in the locker room is “The Chatter Monster.”
I have some anxiety about whether I can properly fulfill this big role, but I want to have a Happy-C, Fun-C Chat-C with everyone!
Since this is my memorable first column, I thought I’d make this Chat-C all about myself.
I’m sure there are some reading who I am meeting for the first time—so nice to meet-C you! Let’s start from before I became a pro wrestler.
Before making my debut as Lady C in 2020, I was a home economics teacher.
I had always loved clothes and dressmaking, so I went to an apparel and fashion university.
Ever since I was a kid, I loved doing things like making clothes for Sylvanian Families dolls or meticulously sewing small accessories in my handicraft club.
Influenced by the scene in the movie The Sound of Music where clothes are made from curtains (which was also paid homage to in Enchanted), as well as The Devil Wears Prada, my dream was to have a career making clothes.
While studying dressmaking in college, I discovered the path of teaching, and after graduating, I ended up teaching home economics at middle and high schools.
That is where I first encountered the existence of professional wrestling.
Believe it or not, a female colleague I met at the very first school I worked at was a massive pro wrestling fan!
She had acrylic wrestler stands decorating her desk in the staff room.
During breaks, she wore a New Japan Pro-Wrestling hoodie.
Whenever I got a ride in her car, entrance themes would be playing endlessly.
In that environment, through something practically bordering on brainwashing, I started developing an interest in pro wrestling too.
Originally, I had absolutely zero interest in sports and had never even played any.
My club activities were the kendo club in middle school, the tea ceremony club in high school, and working as staff for fashion shows and a comedy club in college.
Honestly, even now I don’t really know the rules of baseball or soccer.
I’m at the level where if I so much as touch a ball, I’ll jam my finger.
For someone like that, the very first sport I ever took an interest in was pro wrestling.
October 2017. The students in the grade I was in charge of were away on a school trip, so there were no afternoon classes.
I was interested in pro wrestling, but I still hadn’t actually seen a match yet.
However, I heard there was an NJPW show happening at Korakuen Hall…
Taking the plunge, I left work early by myself that day. I went straight to Korakuen Hall and lined up for same-day tickets.
My seat was in Special Ringside.
It was my first time seeing pro wrestling live. The shocking sounds. The flying sweat. The battles where they put their very lives on the line.
While I was running away from an outside brawl in a panic, a wrestler flew right past me.
Everything, absolutely everything, was a first-time experience. I couldn’t believe a world like this existed.
Every pore on my body opened up, and my heart raced. I still remember just how insanely excited I was experiencing my very first pro wrestling show with that feeling.
From there, I smoothly walked down the path of a Puro-joshi.
I regularly went to watch matches, checked out other promotions, traveled for my oshi’s title matches, cosplayed as my oshi…
It’s my own dark history (cringe phase), so I’ll spare you the details here, but I fell deeper and deeper into the wrestling rabbit hole while living a very fun life as a teacher.
One day, while I happened to be scrolling through social media, a certain joshi pro wrestler caught my interest.
“Tam Nakano.”
At first, it was just surprise—”Someone this cute is a pro wrestler!?”—and a vague sense of curiosity.
But day by day, the feeling of wanting to meet Tam Nakano grew.
At that time, I still hadn’t watched a single joshi pro wrestling match.
Back then, STARDOM held something called “Workshops.” It was essentially a women-only pro wrestling class held at the dojo, where the wrestlers provided direct instruction.
When I found out there was going to be a session with Tam Nakano and Starlight Kid, I took a leap of faith and decided to participate.
As a working adult who had never exercised, I was utterly exhausted just from the warm-ups and simple mat exercises.
I absolutely do not want anyone to see how pathetic and floppy I was back then, but it’s still on YouTube.
Hell, it was even featured on Suta-Suta. I strictly forbid you from watching it.
As I kept attending those workshops over and over, the things I could do gradually increased, and I started wanting to know even more about pro wrestling.
Learning just a little bit about chain wrestling and in-ring movements makes watching matches many times more fun.
“Ah, they escape like this because it hurts right here”—the more you learn, the more fun it gets. It was a world I had never known.
Thinking, “I want to know more about pro wrestling!!!”, I finally made the decision to become a trainee.
However, with opposition from my family and those around me, was I safely able to become a trainee…? That’s a Chat-C for next week.

Movie: The Sound of Music
The story of a novice sister who becomes a governess in a household with strict discipline.
Including the historical backdrop and the way the distance between them gradually closes through music, it is a truly wonderful piece of work.
This is the movie that originally sparked Lady’s interest in both clothing design and teaching.
It’s packed with famous songs you have absolutely heard before, like “Do-Re-Mi,” “My Favorite Things,” and “Edelweiss,” so I definitely want-C you to watch it!!!

- The “-C” Pun: Throughout the column, Lady C routinely replaces Japanese words ending in “shi” (or similar syllables) with the English letter “C” as a playful nod to her ring name.
