Ure-C, Tano-C, it’s Lady C!

In my last Hana-C, my debut was finally decided.

After passing the pro test, an exact date hadn’t been set yet, but I was told I would be debuting in about a month.Once the debut was confirmed, there was so much to do!!!

I had to think of a ring name, practice moves for my debut match, and get a costume made. The standard procedure for pro wrestling gear is to commission a costume maker. I had Imai-neki (STARDOM’s famous manager) introduce me to one as well.

However, I only learned after going to the design meeting that costume deliveries usually take several months. If they are fast, some can take an order in about a month, but during busy seasons, deadlines can be pushed up to half a year out. Since they juggle multiple orders simultaneously, whipping something up immediately is difficult.

The costume maker I was introduced to also said that finishing it within a month would be tough…

Wait, does that mean no costume for my debut match?!

What do I do…

While I was stressing out, Imai-neki said one thing to me:”Just make it yourself!!!”

Before I became a trainee, back when I was working as a part-time teacher, there was a brief period where I made costumes as a side gig. It was my first time making women’s wrestling gear, but it beat being completely naked! And just like that, I decided to make my own gear.

First, I started coming up with the design. I’ve always loved black and white, so I used that as the base, and added orange—an accent color no one else was using at the time. To make my legs look even longer, I went with a leg-cover style that wrapped up to my thighs, with the kneepads hidden inside. To make my arms look longer and really make moves like the Chokeslam pop, I added fishnet decorations. I still wear those fishnets to this day.

From my debut up until now, one thing I’m always conscious of is keeping the design simple to highlight my figure.

Once the design was locked in, I made the patterns. I modified old patterns I used for cosplay, looked at my seniors’ costumes to figure out things like, “Oh, this is where the strings go,” or “This type of stitching makes it secure,” and basically learned through trial and error.

I bought the fabrics from Okadaya and Fujikake. It was incredibly tough making the gear while also accompanying the roster on road tours and keeping up with training.

Right before my debut, on the night before my costume photoshoot, I was sewing my gear on tour and fell asleep without setting an alarm… which led to the one and only time I overslept… I have been super careful about oversleeping ever since…

Through all that chaos, I finally finished the costume. I’ll include the design sketches and photos of the actual gear here.(At the time, I was 177cm and 58kg—totally skin and bones, huh.)

On November 14, 2020, I safely made my debut wearing my handmade gear. To debut and stand in the ring wearing a costume I made myself—it was an absolute dream come true!!!

Though, I ended up catching a high fever the day right after my debut. (Laughs)

And that is the road to Lady C’s debut. This Week’s Lady C Recommendation (Ichio-C)”Sinus Rinse”

Does anyone here use Sinus Rinse???It’s a nasal wash, and I highly recommend it!I have a pretty weak immune system. As a student, I was hospitalized three times for tonsillitis, and even after getting my tonsils removed, I still regularly ran high fevers (like getting bedridden the day after my debut). But ever since I started doing nasal washes with Sinus Rinse, I rarely get sick.

You fill a special bottle with warm water and dissolve the powder. My favorite routine is doing it in the bath while waiting for my hair treatment to set. In the bath, you have hot water ready immediately, making the nasal wash super easy. Plus, the powder comes in individual packets, so it’s easy to pack for tours.

I also highly recommend it for anyone dealing with hay fever. Lady C does her nasal wash every single day.I did catch the flu this year, but for the entirety of last year, I never had to take a day off for a high fever.

I truly recommend it!!!If you have hay fever, a weakened immune system, sinusitis, weak tonsils, or even if you don’t—please try Sinus Rinse!
